FROM CORPORATE TO CATERING

Minnie took over Rustik Foodstore Catering & Café in 2023. After 13 years in the corporate world, where she was in middle and senior management roles at both Energy Australia and Coles Online, running teams in Australia, Manila and New Zealand… she had an unshakable feeling.

She was done with corporate life.

When the culture stopped feeling right, Minnie made a call that most wouldn’t - she stepped away. Six months off. No emails. No deadlines. Just time with her daughter, and time to think.

But Minnie isn’t someone who sits still for long. Her and her husband are no strangers to acquiring, building and selling amazing foodstores and cafes... with Burger Road in Hawthorn and Miss Peppercorn in Blackburn South to name a few of their incredible ventures.

Then the opportunity to take over Rustik Foodstore Catering & Café, in the heart of Parkdale, landed just at the right time.

For Minnie, it was a no-brainer.

Rustik now services both local foodies and the NDIS community, delivering wholesome, long-lasting meals that genuinely make a difference. With smart packaging that extends freshness and systems to donate leftovers to charity, Rustik keeps waste low and impact high. And Minnie's driving purpose is simple…

The growth speaks for itself… 15–20% revenue increases year on year, a loyal customer base, and glowing community feedback. Their first Christmas catering season brought in 120+ orders. The second? A 30% uplift, driven by repeat customers and word-of-mouth.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Very soon, Rustik is expanding. In a few short weeks, they will have a seated space next door to their current foodstore with enough seating for 30 people and a full menu.
